KUCHING: Newly appointed officers of Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment, Sarawak attended a three-day induction course at a hotel here from 2 to 4 May.

The course covered the essential topics to enhance their knowledge and skills for them to execute their duties effectively.

The effective execution of duties is paramount to the State Civil Service 2010 – 2020 Action Plan in striving for the world class Civil Service.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Wan Lizozman bin Wan Omar, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry urged the participants to digest all the topics presented by the speakers so that they would find the tasks they need to carry out would be meaningful to themselves and the customers.

He pointed out that the staff of the Ministry must always bear in mind that they are the custodians of the natural resources in discharging their duties.

Wan Lizozman told the staff to honour their appointment into the State Civil Service.

He reminded them to feel privileged to serve the State.

“You must develop the spirit of “An Honour to Serve” if you regard your profession as your life long goal”, he said.

“We want you to enjoy serving the people while you make a living in contributing your part to the society,” he said.

“We have to jealously safe guard our natural resources so that they can be harvested sustainably for the benefit of the rakyat, he further added. The natural resources are meant for all, so you must play your part to ensure this,” said Wan Lizozman.
