KOTA SAMARAHAN: Donating food to the needy during the month of Ramadan is a noble practice that should be strengthened.

Muara Tuang assemblyman Datuk Idris Buang said this year’s Jerayawara Bubur Lambuk tradition aimed to involve parents, guardians, and children in community activities and foster relationships between teachers, parents, and everyone else.

In his speech at the ‘Jerayawara Bubur Lambuk’ Saberkas Branch Muara Tuang 2023 programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Dato Mohd Musa yesterday, Idris reiterated his support for the activity and commitment to increasing the number of donations in the future.

During the event, approximately 1,000 packs of ‘Bubur Lambuk’ were successfully distributed through the programme from 7.30 am to 3.00 pm. Idris emphasised the importance of enhancing the tradition to instill cultural values in the younger generation for the future.

“Usually, we distribute ‘Bubur Pedas’, but this year, we decided to serve ‘Bubur Lambuk’. However, the most important message to convey is to strengthen the practice of donating food to the community.”

As the teachings of the Prophet state, ‘the best form of charity is giving food.’ Therefore, let us take this opportunity during this noble month to become better human beings than before,” he said.

The public eagerly seized the opportunity to receive ‘Bubur Lambuk’ through the drive-thru implemented in front of the school.
