SIBU: The Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) needs to forge stronger cooperation with community leaders (KMKK).

According to SRDC councillor Kevin Lau, all community leaders and village chiefs are respected because they are leaders who are always engaging with the people.

“I also see that many of these leaders are caring and show a high commitment to the areas entrusted to you.

“Therefore, as an SRDC council member, I realise that to carry out my duties more effectively, I also need to collaborate more closely with all of you,” he said during the People’s Leaders Joint Council Meeting at Rh Joseph Abet in Bawang Assan here Saturday (Nov 18).

The programme was organised by the Iban KMKK in Sibu in collaboration with Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rh Joseph Abet.

He said now is the time for everyone to cooperate sincerely in serving the people, and with that sincerity, a more harmonious and united society can be fostered.
