Negeri Sembilan’s Team SR victorious in Esports X Culture Championship

BINTULU: Team SR, representing Negeri Sembilan, secured the top spot in the Mobile Legend Bang Bang (MLBB) competition at the 2023 Esports X Culture Championship, which concluded on Monday (May 29).

The team’s triumph earned them a cash prize of RM15,000. Team Shinex MY (Kuching) and Team Novoid, representing Melaka, claimed second and third place respectively.

Team Shinex MY received RM10,000 in cash while Team Novoid were awarded RM5,000 in cash.

In the Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) category, Miri’s Team Dejavu secured first place, followed by Team SME x PEA from Pahang in second place and Team Terengganu Esport in third place.

The champions in the PUBG category earned RM15,000 in cash while the runners-up received RM10,000 in cash. The third-placed team received RM5,000.

All the podium finishers received trophies, medals, and hampers as well.

The prizes were presented to the winners by Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming.

The tournament, organised by the Bintulu Divisional Resident’s Office in collaboration with the Bintulu Divisional Tourism Task Force Committee (DTTG) and Xiphos Esports Club, served as a prominent event in conjunction with the celebration of Sarawak Merdeka 60 Years.

A total of 16 groups, comprising 600 participants from various regions such as Kalimantan, Indonesia, and Malaysia, including Sabah, Selangor, Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Terengganu, Pahang, and Sarawak, represented by participants from Bintulu, Miri, Kuching, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, and Serian, took part in the tournament, which spanned four days from May 25 to 28.
