KUCHING: The Sarawak Forest Department (SFD) has launched an easy-to-use app that lets people plant and share trees while earning rewards.
In a statement, the department said that this app is all about involving everyone in tree planting and environmental care.
With this mobile app, anyone can showcase the trees they’ve planted and receive rewards for their efforts.
The app was introduced at an event that highlighted the Malaysian Greening campaign and the Greening Sarawak initiative.
During the event on Wednesday, the department contributed 135 beautifully grown trees of different kinds to Datu Patinggi Abang Haji (DPAH) Abdillah College. This special gesture aims to inspire students to care more about the environment.
“This collaboration isn’t just about planting trees. It’s also about spreading awareness through an exhibition that focuses on the Malaysian Greening campaign and Greening Sarawak initiative,” said SFD.
“These efforts, supported by the government, want to make everyone care more about the environment. They want people from all parts of society to plant different kinds of trees. And it’s really important to protect Malaysia’s forests,” it added.
Also present were the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman Datuk Rozalix Edi Wahab, college principal Adzuddin Mantrang, and Forest Department deputy director Semilan Ripot.
