KUCHING: Taman Samariang Aman, a housing estate here, now has a new football field and a new multipurpose hall.
Pantai Damai assemblyman, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi on Saturday (Oct 23) witnessed the handover of the newly upgraded football field from the Kuching North City Hall to Samariang Aman’s Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).
He also witnessed handover of the new multipurpose hall from the Public Works Department (JKR) to the JKKK.
He hoped these rural transformation projects (RTP) would benefit the youth and residents in the area.
On the football field, he said, “I hope that the youth can train and sharpen their football skills here.”
On the hall, he said, “It is more conducive because of its ventilation. We aim to use this hall as a place for the residents, especially youth, to play badminton as well as for any activities and programmes by the JKKK.
“It is hoped that this hall will be a place where the youth can train and eventually become professional badminton players.”
Dr Abdul Rahman contributed RM3,000 to the hall management as well as indoor game sets, namely, dart board, carrom board, congkak, chess set, ping-pong table and many more to the JKKK.
“I hope that the RTP projects which were officiated today will bring success to the youth and residents here and help discover new talents,” he added.
