New Sarawak Tribune’s Priscilla Tawie wins 10th Anak Sarawak Journalism Award

KUCHING: New Sarawak Tribune’s very own feature writer, Priscilla Tawie Sulok, won the Journalism Award for Print/Online category at the 10th Anak Sarawak Awards.
 
She won for her article titled ‘Storytelling at its Finest’, which was published in February of this year.
 
“I’m extremely honoured to be able to hold this award. But it is not just about me winning this award. This trophy and certificate that I hold are not just about me.
 
“It is those soldiers behind me — my husband, my father, my family, my best friends, my colleagues at the New Sarawak Tribune, and others,” she said after receiving her award at the 10th Anak Sarawak Awards ceremony at the Imperial Hotel here yesterday (May 12).
 
Present to hand over the award to Priscilla was Business Events Sarawak chairman Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg.

Furthermore, TVS editor Daryll Law also won the Journalism Award for the Broadcasting category.
 
The ceremony also saw seven other winners win in different categories.
 
Hii Mei Ching of Borneo Plux Sdn Bhd won the Young Leader Award; Curtin University Malaysia (8th International Forum on Industrial Bioprocess 2019); Spiral Eventz Management Sdn Bhd; Borneo Convention Centre Kuching; and T.E.E.M. Event and Exhibition Management Sdn Bhd won the Business Events Awards.
 
The Sarawak Legacy Award went to the Clean Air Forum Society of Malaysia (MyCAS), and the Outstanding Achievement Award went to Prof Dr Mohd Raili Suhaili of SEGI University, Sibu Clinical Campus.
 
The 10th Anak Sarawak Awards is Malaysia’s first business events award programme, dedicated to the business events industry by Business Events Sarawak.
 
This year was themed ‘Passion Inspires Legacies’, a celebration of achievements and unwavering commitment.
 
Among those also present at the ceremony were Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and Business Events Sarawak chief executive officer Amelia Roziman.
