114 state’s MACC personnel take IBR

KUCHING: A total of 114 officers from the State Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) took their Corruption Free Pledge (IBR), yesterday.

According to the State KPDNKK Deputy Director Abdul Hafidz Rahim, the IBR pledge by the State KPDNKK is in response and also as a support to the Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission (MACC) programme as recommended by Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

“I support this effort so that the State KPDNKK officials are always highly regarded by the public and are always transparent in doing their duties.

“The IBR was also held to demonstrate our commitment in upholding the government’s call to ensure that the Malaysia’s corruption index drops to the a much lower level,” said Hafidz in his speech during the Corruption Free Pledge ceremony held at State KPDNKK office, Jalan Tun Jugah, yesterday.

He added the State KPDNKK personnel have targeted zero corruption in their organisation and various efforts have been implemented in order to achieve the objective.Hafidz also noted that the effort to prevent corruption must start with the sincerity of the person to reject corruption.

“Those who signed the pledge will feel more responsible in carrying out their duties,” Hafidz said adding yesterday corruption free pledge will improve awareness of (being corruption free) and instil the integrity value to the KPDNKK officers in the state. Also present was state MACC deputy director Zulhairy Zaidel.
