KUCHING: The Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba) yesterday received a distressed call about a road accident that occurred in front of the premises of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) at 12th Mile, Kuching-Serian Road. Such a call was received at 10:11:58 hours, according to information received from Pusat Gerakan Operasi Bomba Sarawak.

According to the report, the rescue operation ended at 10:40:00 hours.

Operation Commander PBK II Albanus Linyan reported that the accident involved a lorry carrying its own goods that hit into the back of another which stopped at the traffic light.
A 54-year-old female passenger sitting on the passenger front seat of one lorry was said to have injured her right leg that got stuck in between the seats as a result of the accident impact.

Bomba personnel at the scene managed to get her out of the vehicle safely using their rescue tools.

The victim Nilaw Anak Masar, from Kampung Ensebang Kuari Serian, was later sent by a Bomba vehicle to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), said the report.
