BINTANGOR: A 60-year-old man, believed to be the younger halfbrother of Julau MP Datuk Joseph Salang, died here on Monday night after he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding on.
Bintangor District Police Chief, DSP Mohd Hafipi Mohd Salim, confirmed that the accident occurred around 7.40pm. The victim known as Minda Mandau, 60, of Rumah Kasin Muara Bunut here, was believed to be on his way heading to Sibu.
“Initial investigation at the scene found that the victim was riding his motorcycle alone. “The victim lost control of his motorcycle before it crashed near the Sing Ba junction, 11km from here.
“He was confirmed dead on the scene by a team of paramedics which rushed to the scene,” he said. The case is investigated as selfaccident under Section 41 (1) APJ 1987.
