The parliamentary seat of Mas Gading comprises the state seats of Opar (N.01) and Tasik Biru (N.02) which are currently represented by Ranum Mina (BN-Direct) and Datuk Henry Harry Jinep (BN-PDP) respectively. The completion of the 2,339km Pan Borneo Highway, all the way to Limbang and Sabah, will bring substantial economic benefits to Bau, Lundu and Sematan which rely heavily on tourism for prosperity.

The highway is expected to open up opportunities for business activities while more housing and industrial estates projects are expected to spring up in the area. The upgrading and widening of various roads will enable more tourists to visit interesting nature attractions such as the Gunung Gading National Park, Jangkar Waterfall, Wind Cave, Fairy Cave, Tasik Biru, Serikin bazaar, Adis Buan and Bung Orad recreational parks, and many more.

Many annual festivals are celebrated in this constituency and among the famous ones is the Gawai Carnival Redeems which showcases the rich authentic Dayak Bidayuh Culture at Redeems Centre in Kampung Apar, Singai. Bung Orad, an ancestral mountain home of the Bidayuh, has recently been developed to bring in tourists. MP Datuk Anthony Nogeh, who is also the Federal Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, has allocated a sum of RM200,000 to upgrade the area into an agro-tourism resort. More money for development will flow into the area in the future.

Meanwhile, a new secondary school has been proposed to be built in the Jagoi area as the three other existing secondary schools, namely SMK Lake, SMK Bau and SMK Paku are always full. If the proposal for the new secondary school is approved, it is expected to be named as SMK Jagoi. Another secondary school which is now under construction and expected to be completed in 2019 is the SMK Singai. The new school, which will be a full boarding school and the fourth secondary school in Bau district, will be able to accommodate up to 1,500 students. The completion of the Lundu Waterfront project was among the development projects in the constituency to attract more tourists to the town. According to incumbent MP Datuk Anthony Nogeh, under the BN government more development projects will be carried out in the consitutency to benefit the people.
