First Mind, STEM festival on August 3, 4

KUCHING: Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 will be holding the first ever MIND and STEM Festival at its school hall here on 3 and 4 August from 9am till 4pm.

The event is co-organised by Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia Mental Literacy Movement (MMLM) and Kuala Lumpur Engineering Science Fair (KLESF).

The objectives of the festival is to introduce and promote various techniques and skills pertaining to the improvement of mental literacy as well as to promote interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among primary and secondary school children.

The festival will offer a variety of fun and interactive contents and activities such as mental literacy talks, creative mind games, STEM hands-on experiments and exhibition, 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube competition and workshops.

The 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube competition will be divided into two categories, students and adults.

In addition, the organiser has extended a special invitation to the Grandmaster of Memory, Wong Wan Jiun and Malaysian Human Calculator, West Wong to present their talk on ‘How to boost your memory by 100% easily’ and ‘Math is Easy with Brain Power’.

Admission to the festival is free, and members of the public are encouraged to participate.
