MIRI: An outraged mother had brought a group of 20 men to a house in Tudan Desaras here, to confront and threaten her 19 year-old daughter on Monday night.
Prior to the 9.30pm incident, the 19 year-daughter had requested her mother to bring back home her youngest female sibling ( aged five) for she would be attending school session on Tuesday ( July 24).
However, the mother had refused with the demand; she instead brought up a group of 20 men including her live-in boyfriend to the daughter’s house in Tudan Desaras that was meant to scare her off.
Concerned neighbours upon seeing people thronging the area that night immediately called up Pujut Resident Committee (RC Pujut) for assistance.
After responding to the alert, a group of RC Pujut members dashed to the scene.
A police report on the incident was lodged at Lutong police station later that night by the 19 year-old daughter.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the mother had not stayed under one roof with her children ever since her husband passed away several years ago.
Since the demise of their father, the 19-year-old daughter has become the sole breadwinner for the family.
She (the daughter) alleged that the mother had not used the financial aid provided by the Welfare Department to support the family. Instead, the mother used it to support her boyfriend, she pointed out.
Minor altercation was reported last night but no untoward incident happened as the RC Pujut members came to the rescue and brought the children to Lutong police station.
