PANTU: Paul Tuah from Sibu emerged champion in the men’s category of the blowpipe competition held here and in conjunction with the Pantu Festival 2017, after defeating 17 other participants from all over the state. Meanwhile, Alfa Joe and Topik Taim from B-Suwee Bau Blowpipe Club (KMBB) were each announced as runner-up and third place winner in the same category.
In the women’s categor y, Benona’s anak Akim who is also from KMBB emerged the champion after beating four other contestants. Tepi anak Mata from KMBB took second place and Lengini anak Neru from Kota Samarahan Blowpipe Club was third.
Sri Aman Assistant District Officer, Hamdan Katang gave away the prizes at a ceremony held at SJK Chung Hua Pantu. Also present were the members of the Organising Committee namely Jilin Itar, Freddy John, Shahruul Azlan and staff from Pantu Sub-District Office.
