SERIKIN: After being declared by State Disaster Management Committee as rabies infected area number 22, Serikin yesterday saw army personnel busily beefing up efforts to further boost public safety at the border with Indonesia.

A few of them were seen checking and making sure no pets were taken in and out of the country through the army post.

Many of them were also involved in checking on the ‘jalan tikus’ (illegal routes) at the border to deter entry of any illegal immigrants, smuggling of goods and animals.
