MIRI: Two women, including a single mother, suspected involved in drug abuse activities were arrested in a police raid on a house in Permyjaya here yesterday.
Acting on information, a team of Miri District Narcotics Investigation Division (BSJN) conducted the raid at around noon.
Sources said the two women, aged 30 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of drug addiction.
He said, police also seized one transparent straw tube containing crystalline suspected as ‘syabu’ type of drugs with an estimated weight of 0.10 grammes.
“Both of them were then taken to BSJN for further action including being directed to undergo urine tests.
“The tests on both suspects showed they were positive of methamphetamine drug,” he said.
Subsequently, both were detained for further investigation under Section 12 (2) and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
