World Quran Hour event attracts 100

KUCHING:  About 100 people comprising public members, officials of government departments, agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) participated in World Quran Hour 2018  Programme  held at Sarawak Islamic Information Centre (IIC) here in Kuching yesterday.

‘World of Compassion’ is the theme of  this year’s World # Quran Hour 2018 while ’Bangsa Berbudi dan Penyayang’ is the theme of this year’s Malaysia # Quran Hour.

The Programme included a sharing on the subject of K-Circle entitled ‘Penurunan Al-Quran’  by Uztaz Mohammed Ilyas Mohammed Saleh, a senior  officer on Islamic Affairs, Contemporary Islamic Studies Academy,  UiTM Cawangan Sarawak.

The Programme is a yearly event of the IIC in appreciating the Quran during the month of Ramadan. This year, the invited speaker also shared on values or on Ummah Ethical Conducts as found  Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:1-18.

The sharing continued with an Al-Quran Reading session.

Organised by the IIC the programme is also in line with  the main function and objective of  the Sarawak Islamic Information Centre  i.e to facilitate  the understanding of Islam  through various activities, interaction with the community and to create good cooperation with all  quarters.

Also attending the event was Zabariah Matali , Chief Executive Office of Sarawak Islamic Information Centre.
