MIRI: Residents at the Home for the Aged in Krokop received angpows as well as food items from the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) and three other organisations recently.

According to NSJA president Andy Jong Wan Joon who led the group consisting of Lions Club of Batu Niah, Shun Shen Lee Trading (Miri) and the Twin Brothers Patisserie, the visit was held in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.

The group distributed a total 10 packets of 10kg rice, bread, Mandarin oranges and many more.

Presently, the home has a total of 22 residents.

Officially opened on July 12 in 1975, it provides shelter, food and care for the retired and aging populace and those who are bedridden.
