SIBU: The Ngemah constituency has received a total of 94 minor rural transformation (MRP) funds, amounting to over RM800,000, up to this point.

According to its assemblyman Anyi Jana, he has made a commitment to distribute MRP grants to various associations and committees within the constituency, including Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG), and associations/clubs/Non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

His goal is to complete this distribution within two years.

“Every elected representative is allocated a total of RM2 million in funds annually. In my case, I have divided this fund into two phases. The first phase has already been distributed. As for the second phase of my MRP fund, I am currently in the planning stage because I want to fulfill my promise to the people in my constituency,” he said this when interviewed by reporters after the Gawai Ngiling Tikai ceremony at Sibu Jaya Methodist Church on Friday evening.

In the meantime, Anyi praised the efforts of the church in Sibu Jaya for establishing a kindergarten to address the needs of the local community.

“The committee at Sibu Jaya Methodist Church has taken the initiative to set up their own kindergarten. They have recognised the growing population in Sibu Jaya, and they felt that the existing kindergarten might become too crowded. That’s why they came up with this initiative,” he explained.
