KUCHING: Hope Place recently met with Burie, a 34-year-old woman whose husband, David Sidi, 41, is currently bedridden due to a traumatic brain injury (TBI) sustained in a motorbike accident in November 2022.

In a press release, Burie shared that the tragic accident left David bedridden and unconscious for over a year. Presently, David relies on a suction machine and tube feeding for his daily needs.

“Formerly employed as an excavator, David provided a stable income for his family of five,” stated Hope Place.

However, following the accident, the family now relies solely on the monthly assistance of RM500 from social welfare and support from Socso.

Managing the expenses for their two school-going children and the youngest, who will soon attend kindergarten, has become a financial challenge for Burie.

To supplement their income, Burie’s elderly mother is cultivating vegetables at home for sale.

Additionally, David’s frequent epileptic episodes have further weakened his physical condition, particularly affecting his legs.

Hope Place has stepped in to support the family by providing milk supplements and adult diapers for David, along with essential school supplies for the children and assistance with school bus fees.

For those wishing to contribute or enquire about assistance, Hope Place can be contacted at 082-505987.

Donations are accepted through the NGO’s bank account at MBB: 511289001160. Receipts will be provided upon request.
