KUCHING: There is no case related to profiteering by businessmen or traders in the state despite the slow pace of business due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) state director Datuk Stanley Tan, however, said that there are a total of 318 notices issued as of today to traders who gain information pertaining to costing and pricing.

He further added that the notices fall under Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act (AKHAP) 2011.

“On the controlled items in conjunction with the Gawai celebration, it has yet to be announced by our ministry.

“We are currently still awaiting the decision and will give the details on the matter as soon as we have it,” he said.
