Waste water used to wash goose droppings causes a foul smell in the neighbourhood.

KUCHING: A family who rears goose in a housing area has irked neighbours as waste water from the goose farm which flows out into the neighbourhood has created a foul smell in the area.

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief Wilfred yap who was called to meditate between the warring neighbours urged them to be considerate to prevent such issues from cropping up.

He noted that waste water from the goose farm had flowed out of the gate and onto the neighbour’s side. He has asked the Padawan Municipal Council’s Public Health department to look into the issue and take further action in accordance with the law.

Yap advised house owners to be considerate adding what they do could create ill feelings among their neighbours. He said it was only fair that everyone has to play their part which included being considerate on noise pollution or nuisance.

“The key is not to do things which you do not want others to do. This will go a long way towards reducing unhappiness and potential disputes among residents living in a neighbourhood and also allow the enforcement staff of the relevant authorities to concentrate on more serious breaches of by-laws and regulations.”
