NRD goes on 3-day ground service

SIBU:   The National Registration Department (NRD) has gone to the ground to provide services such as birth certificate and registration of identity cards to residents in Kemuyang.

Special Mobile Registration Unit of the NRD went down to serve the residents of Rumah Eddy Jemat ak Jelian, Kemuyang from 24th until 26th September.

Within three days, the Special Mobile Registration Unit of the NRD had assisted in managing birth certificates and identity cards.

At the same time, Sibu Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, Councillor Robert Lau spent his time visiting the area to assess the situation of registration of the identity card among residents of Rumah Eddy Jemat.

Speaking to reporters, Cr. Robert Lau, who is also deputy chairman of Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) is very pleased and praised the efforts shown by NRD’s officers.

“On the first day of the programme (24th September), a total of 30 residents were successfully certified and registered and it is expected that 70 residents will be registered during the 3-day of the registration,” he said.

He therefore hoped that the residents of Rumah Eddy would be able to successfully complete registration processes of birth certificates or identity cards to prove their identity.
