NREB-SEB environmental workshop gets underway

NREB team during NREB-SEB Environmental Practitioners Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop

KUCHING: Sarawak Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) is holding the NREB-SEB Environmental Practitioners Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop in conjunction with World Wetlands Day.

The workshop is being held at Damai Beach Resort Kuching from Feb 1-3, with a total of 54 participants.

The programme themed “Wetland Restoration” seeks to teach and expose participants to managing environmental education programmes as well as developing environmental practitioners who are highly skilled and always aware of current environmental challenges.

Participants who successfully complete the TOT training session will be given the opportunity to use their skills as facilitators of the Environmental Education Workshop for Sarawak State Level Environmental Lovers Club (PALS) Teacher Advisors.

One of the events that took place was the plog and hike activity on Thursday (Feb 2) at Pantai Puteri Santubong with 15 members of its Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK).
 
Through this activity, members of public are expected to cultivate an attitude of responsibility to take care of the environment together.

The closing on Feb 3 will be attended by Sarawak’s Environmental Quality Controller Peggy Ronin Edin together with General Manager for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Robin Tigai and Senior Vice President Health, Safety, Security & Environment Marconi Madai from Sarawak Energy Berhad.
