Oct 31 deadline to pay assessment rates

KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) opens its counters until this Saturday to assist property owners who wish to pay their assessment rates.

According to a statement by the MPP, the due payment date for the second half of the year is on October 31.

Counters will operate from 8am to 3.30pm, including the lunch hour period, on normal working days.

On another note, a surcharge amounting to one per cent, per month or part thereof will be levied if payment of rates is made after October 31 this year.

In addition to that, payment of the assessment rate bills, which are not overdue, can be made at all the payment counters at Service Sarawak Kuching in Urban Transformation Centre Kuching (UTC) Kuching, DBKU, MBKS, SESCO, KWB, STM and POS.

Payment can also be made at all H&L Supermarket outlets here and ratepayers can also pay online by accessing www.paybillsmalaysia.com or via the MPP website https://mpp.sarawak.gov.my.

The Service Sarawak Counters of UTC Kuching at Jalan Bukit Mata here are open daily on Monday to Friday from 8am until 7.00pm and on weekends from 8am to 5.00pm to collect the current and overdue assessment rate bills.

Ratepayers who have not received or mislaid their assessment rate bills are requested to call at the Valuation and Rating Division of MPP for copy bills without delay. All telephone enquiries can be channeled to 082-615566.
