BETONG: Grassroots leaders are obliged to alert the authorities should they suspect something amiss with the implementation of development projects.

This is because community leaders, village chiefs and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) are the best ‘eyes and ears’ to ensure each project proceeds accordingly.

In making the call Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneurial Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu they should constantly monitor all activities or projects implemented in their respective areas.

“This action is crucial to ensure all development activities or projects run smoothly, without issues, and benefit the people,” he said while officiating at the Integrity Tour Programme Series 10 No.1/2024 herel yesterday.

“If it is suspected that a project is being carried out slowly or not according to the approved specifications, it is everyone’s responsibility to report it to the relevant agency.

“If you feel there’s something wrong with the ongoing project, just report it,” he said.
