Over 24k accounts opened with RM24.8 mil allocation

KUCHING: As of November 2022, as many as 24,814 Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS) accounts have been opened which involve an allocation of RM24.8 million.

In stating this, Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Well-Being, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said that as of November last year, some 38,808 mothers received the one-off RM450 under the Post-Natal Assistance (BIB).

“The financial assistance involved an allocation of RM17.46 million,” she said during a press conference after the walkabout at the maternity ward, Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here today (Jan 4).

She added that for the application of EFS, it can be done manually in all 52 branches of National Registration Department (JPN) for the Sarawakian applicants.

“For the non-Sarawakian applicants, the application can be done by submitting all the necessary documents to the Births, Deaths and Adoptions Division of the Sarawak JPN’s office,” she said.

Fatimah also stated that for BIB, the application can be done manually at any district Social Welfare Department’s offices, district offices or JPN or BIB secretarial offices, Baitul Makmur II building (Kuching only).

“Both of the applications can also be done online by downloading the iSarawakCare mobile application, and also visit our website https://isarawakcare.gov.my for more information,” she said.
