PADAWAN: The core duty of the police force is to ensure safety and security of the community but this task has not stopped the law enforcers from carrying out community work, especially during Ramadan.

Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity to improve police-community partnerships, the Padawan district police headquarters distributed meals to the less fortunate, frontline personnel and the public.

This effort certainly goes a long way in enhancing contacts between police and citizens.

The breaking-of-fast meal in the form of chicken rice was distributed by Padawan deputy police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong together with Persatuan Keluarga Polis (Perkep) IPD Padawan chairperson Lily Malawati at Kota Sentosa police station yesterday.

Lim and his men distributed the meals to the needy from the Mohammad Al Fateh Education Centre, Kota Samarahan.

Personnel from the Semenggoh Army Camp, Police Air Wing Unit (PGU), and police stations under the jurisdiction of Padawan IPD, also received the meals.
