KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has issued a call to house buyers to seek clarification regarding the status of their Occupation Permit (OP).

MPP stressed its strict adherence to safety requirements to ensure that the infrastructure developed by construction companies is secure and free from hazards for purchasers.

MPP chairman Tan Kai stated that before the issuance of the OP, developers must obtain a Road Completion Certificate (RCC), which encompasses infrastructure works like roads, drainage, street lighting, retaining walls and more.

“The developer, through their appointed professional engineer, requested RCC inspection since October 2022.

“MPP and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage conducted inspections upon request and discovered numerous non-compliances and deviations from the approved engineering plan,” Tan Kai explained.

In light of these findings, he urged house buyers to file complaints with MPP, enabling the council to take necessary legal actions.

“We are here to protect the house buyers legally,” he assured.
