PBB wants to remain as a stable party

KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today said that meetings at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) branch level have been going smoothly in light of its upcoming Triennial General Meeting (TGM) this June.

Abang Johari, who is also the party president, also expressed his gratitude and thanked his comrades and members for re-nominating to continue to lead PBB.

“So far, our branch meeting has been going quite well,” he said.

“I also wish to thank those who re-nominating me as the party’s president for the following term,” he told the reporters when met at Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today.

He said their decision to re-nominate him signifies not only their faith and confidence in him, but also to fulfil their aspiration for a stable party.

“As you know, we are working with other component parties (in Gabungan Party Sarawak) which requires stability in our party level.

“This is also important for Sarawak to progress forward through a forward looking government,” he added.
