PBM announces new leadership line-up

KUCHING: Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) has a new leadership line-up following its 15th party elections.

The party said the supreme council led by president Datuk Larry Sng, the Julau MP, held its first meeting on Feb 10 to restructure and re-organise the party through a ‘cleansing’ process.

“There were replacements and new appointments for several leadership positions.

“This is to rebuild the strength of the party so that it continues to be relevant for the sake of nation building along with the unity government,” PBM said in a statement yesterday (Feb 14).

Steven Choong Shiau Yoon and Wong Judat are the deputy presidents while former DAP man and Tronoh state rep Paul Yong Choo Kiong is the senior vice president.

The vice president is Datuk Chua Lian Chye.

Former Sri Aman MP Datuk Masir Kujat will be the secretary general and Engga Unchat as the treasurer general.

The part has appointed a few new supreme council members and state chairpersons.

Sng is also Sarawak and Selangor PBM chairman.

“The work of organising and strengthening the structure of the states has also been completed and now PBM will continue to focus on preparations to streamline the grassroots and the rebranding the party so that it continues to gain a place in the hearts Malaysians.

“PBM is also optimistic of sticking with the unity government to ensure Malaysia is stable and competitive in facing upcoming challenges.”
