Penang eyes future collaborations with Sarawak

KUCHING: Penang government is looking forward to explore opportunities on collaborations with Sarawak in various sectors of development.

Earlier, its Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow made a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Premier’s office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

Chow said the visit aimed to explore opportunities to collaborate particularly in digitalisation, industrial development, renewable energy and the public transport sector.

“There are many areas that we can benefit from Sarawak in terms of the digitalisation roadmap and smart city initiatives as well.

“So we will look into areas where we can explore opportunities to collaborate,” he told when met by the reporters after the courtesy call.

Chow’s visit to the state capital was also to attend the 27th World Congress on Innovation and Technology/ 6th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (WCIT|IDECS 2023), at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here.
