“I had the chance to grow up in Miri, to stay and work in Miri with Shell, I also had the chance to serve the State Premier’s Office, and now, I have the chance to contribute back to Sarawak via PETROS,” he said while reminiscing his student days in Miri, each day crossing past the school nearest to the Miri CCGT Power Plant Project location.

Meanwhile, City mayor Adam Yii, in his closing remark said; “The Miri CCGT Power Plant is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing energy infrastructure and ensuring a sustainable power supply for Miri and its surrounding areas. However, the successful execution of this project requires careful planning and management of various aspects, including traffic. I must commend PETROS for initiating this, and being professional and transparent, as it is important to engage and inform the community and other relevant stakeholders especially on works that will impact the public.

“It is good initiative establishing contact hotlines, allowing public to connect with PETROS and the contractor for any concerns. The vehicle wash-through for dust and dirt control prior to leaving the earthwork location is also commendable. I urge the public to remain patient and understanding, as we stand together with PETROS and the State, in delivering this project,” he added.
