KUCHING: The National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) has opened its branch in Sarawak this year which is aimed to create awareness amongst Sarawakians on their consumerism rights.

MTPN councillor, Sarawak branch Wynson Ong said to reporters at the council’s gathering with the media on Monday night, that the MTPN is a platform for the consumers to voice their complaints.

Towards this end to create awareness, the Consumer Choice Award 2023 will be held on Nov 25 at the Grand Riviera Ballroom.

“This award is aimed at promoting Sarawak’s brand and one such local brand, Leaves, is one of the participants right now.

“We are looking for reliable brands for their presentations and then, we do an audit section to select the deserving nominations.

“So far, we have received 12 nominations and we are targeting 50 nominations to choose from to win the award,” he said.

The deadline for submitting nominations for the award competition is in October.
