Police confirms 43 reports against ‘Bozz Jebat’

KUCHING: Forty-three police reports have been filed against Zool Amali Hussin, commonly known as ‘Bozz Jebat’, for his disrespectful remarks about Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata said that, to date, 43 police reports have been received on the matter.

“The largest number of reports, eight, was filed in Miri, followed by seven in Kuching, and four in Padawan and Bintulu respectively.

“Three reports were filed in Marudi, two reports each in Saratok and Bau.

“Additionally, one report each was filed in Serian, Lawas, Simunjan, Belaga, Sri Aman, Mukah, Lubok Antu, Kota Samarahan, Limbang, Sibu, Kapit, Dalat and Lundu,” he said.

Under the Sedition Act, a conviction can result in a maximum fine of RM5,000 or imprisonment for up to three years, or both.

Similarly, under the Communications and Multimedia Act, a conviction may lead to a fine of up to RM50,000 or imprisonment for up to one year, or both.

These reports were lodged in response to Zool’s video clip, which has gone viral on social media, where he launched insults at Abang Johari and criticises the Premier’s decision to appoint Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing as the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, along with making harsh remarks against Abang Johari.
