KUCHING: Some 100 individuals from the Sarawak Zone Polytechnic and Community College (POLYCC) received promotion and appointment certificates as affiliated officers from the certified body of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).

The ceremony took place at the multipurpose hall of the Kuching Community College recently.

According to APM deputy director Lt-Col (PA) Raja Muhammad Alhakim Raja Jaafar @ Raja Yaakubbahawa, the conferral of these certificates is a recognition of POLYCC officers who actively participate in APM activities and operations.

“The promotion of POLYCC officers is a crucial element to inspire and motivate those who work diligently to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of services, addressing issues and challenges related to disasters in Sarawak.

“Through APM programmes, participants become dedicated volunteers always ready throughout the country, individuals dedicating their time and energy to safeguard the nation’s safety and wellbeing without expecting rewards.

“They willingly sacrifice to ensure national security, act swiftly in emergencies, and provide assistance to communities in need,” Lt-Col (PA) Raja Muhammad stressed.
