SIBU: A prisoner hanged himself to death in what appeared to be suicide.
Sibu OCPD ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said a report was received on the day of the incident — at 4.13am, Sunday (Sept 11) — from the prison warden.
The prisoner, aged 52, had hung himself in Sibu Prison’s transit cell, Jalan Awang Ramli Amit here.
“Sibu Hospital confirmed the death after the examination (of the prisoner). The case has been classified as sudden death,” ACP Zulkipli said on Tuesday (Sept 13).
