KUCHING: The Sarawak Housing Real Estate and Developers’ Association (SHEDA) Property Expo will take place from July 14 to 16 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

In its press release, SHEDA said that every effort had been made to empower visitors to secure a home during the expo.

Organising chairman, Steve Tan Chen Hang shared that special focus had been given to champion the needs and experience of homeowners specific to financial assistance and the loan application process.

“Employee Provident Funds (EPF) will be present at the Expo so account holders will be able to seek advice on withdrawals immediately at BCCK,” he said.

He also added that visitors will also be able to obtain their credit score rating from CTOS Sdn Bhd, and compare loan rates from Borneo Housing Mortgage Finance Berhad and Mutiara Mortgage and Credit Sdn Bhd, as well as other financial institutions including AmBank (M) Bhd, Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad and CIMB Bank Berhad.

“These services reinforce the Expo’s goal of providing full and complete service in matching potential purchasers to property developers.

“I have reminded the exhibitors to be prepared to respond to queries on the Government’s Home Ownership Programme (i-Miliki),” he added.

Using various price points, he gave examples of potential savings which Expo visitors would enjoy.

“Under the i-Miliki programme, a first-time home owner could enjoy savings around RM65,000.00 for a house normally priced at RM550,000.00.

“The savings came not only from the stamp duty exemptions or remissions, but also the discount provided under i-Miliki,” he added.
