KUCHING: The Kuching District Police are urging members of the public to come forward with any relevant information related to a road altercation at Jalan Demak.

Kuching Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said, in light of a recent social media uproar, a video showing a motorcyclist engaging in provocative behavior towards other road users has sparked outrage and concern.

“The 1-minute-and-50-second clip, which appeared on Facebook at 1 pm on March 15, shows a motorcyclist without a visible registration number, accompanied by a male passenger, brazenly provoking fellow commuters.

The incident occurred on March 14 at 5.20 pm along Jalan Demak, just outside the Mydin Petrajaya Mall.

“The footage shows the motorcyclist instigating altercations with other road users, raising serious safety concerns among the public,” he said.

In response to the viral video, police have launched an investigation into the incident. They have confirmed receiving a report about the video and are actively pursuing the case under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Efforts are underway to identify and locate the individuals involved in the incident.
