QR code a progressive step in crime prevention

SIBU: Sibu district police have launched a QR code for a customer satisfaction survey in their effort to reach out to the public.

Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said this is an innovation mulled by Sibu police to upgrade their service.

“Before this, we did it manually using the complaint box placed at all police stations in Sibu. So, this time we are digitising it, so that the public only needs to scan the code and comment.

“We have three languages: English, Malay, and Chinese. The QR code application will be posted in a strategic corner and anyone who deals with the police either at the station or at the department can scan the QR code,” he said.

Zulkipli said this when met by reporters after officiating at the 216th Police Day celebration cum launching of the customer service QR code together with Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek at the Sibu district police headquarters today.

The top cop assured the public of improved services either in terms of satisfaction, efficiency, or public feedback.

“Every month our special team will look (at the survey) and if there is anmy weakness we will try to improve on it, hence maintaining our good service,” he said.

A total of 360 officers and members of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) participated in the parade.

During the ceremony, Zulkipli also presented certificates of appreciation to 46 recipients.

Among those present were Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh, Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai, Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce Tuanku Mohamad and Temenggong Stanley Geramong.
