Queen returns home after 4-day visit

KUCHING: After a four-day official visit to the state capital, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah returned to Pahang this morning.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Her Majesty arrived at Kuching International Airport at 8.23am and was received by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

Among those who accompanied  Juma’ani in welcoming the Queen upon arrival was Deputy State Secretary (Operations) Datuk Dr Sabariah Putit; wife of Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Datin Sri Enn Ong Siok Ean; wife of Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Hamzah, Datin Zuraini Abdul Jabbar; and wife of State Secretary Datuk Seri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Datin Seri Baduyah Bujang.

Her Majesty, who flew in to Kuching last Sunday, visited the Puncak Borneo Prison Complex and later the Food Over Fire Festival & Theater at Fort Magherita .

On the second day, the Queen visited Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abang Ahmad Urai’s Heritage House in Jalan Muda Hashim.

The following day she graced the Borneo Textile Symposium Series 2 Gold Leaf ceremony at the Pullman Hotel, and on her final day of her visit, she officiated at the opening of the Juma’ani Pavillion in Jalan Gersik.
