‘Randau’ session attracts 200 women

SIBU: About 200 people attended a ‘randau’ (dialogue session) held at Rumah Dieo, Penasu here, recently.

The attendees were from Penasu, Rantau Panjang, Bekakap, Bukit Besai and Aup areas.

The event was a joint programme organised by the General Conference of Methodist Women Malaysia (GCMW) and Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Sibu.

Three talks on women’s roles in the family, parenting, and roles of GCMS and SIDS Sibu were present to those present.

President of GCMW, who is also the chairperson of SIDS Sibu, Dato Ir Alice Jawan who spoke at the function reminded the members on the important roles women play in the family and community.  

Special assistance in the form of food stuff and stationery were given to needy children, single parent women and the elderly.
