BALINGIAN: About 500 guests gathered at the Aidilfitri Open House hosted by Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi at Kampung Masjid here yesterday.
Abdul Yakub was grateful for the opportunity to host the event, which allowed him to mingle with local community.
“This ceremony provides a chance for me to build relationships with our guests,” he said.
Meanwhile Penghulu Pekan Balingian, Harbi Baker, said that the event had been meticulously planned to delight the Balingian community.
“Alhamdulillah, the celebration was vibrant, attended by people of various races and religions. We welcomed Iban, Chinese, and Melanau guests, as well as friends from Mukah and Bintulu.
“The event proceeded smoothly, and I extend thanks to Abdul Yakub for generously distributing ‘duit raya’ to the children and officials of Darul Taqwa Mosque and Kuala Balingian Mosque,” he said.
He also offered prayers for Abdul Yakub’s continued good health and blessings from Allah SWT.
Also present was Balingian Subdistrict Office Officer Dominic Ahjun.
