MIRI: A group of 29 volunteers recently attended a comprehensive orientation course organised by the voluntary aid detachment (VAD) sub-committee, Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch.

The event, held at the Periwinkle Hall MRC Miri Branch Training Institute, also saw the active involvement of 10 committee members.

“The primary objectives of the course were to deepen the understanding of VAD members’ roles, instil the spirit of volunteerism and impart knowledge about the organisational management and structure of the MRC,” it said through a statement.

“Throughout the course, they were given talks covering essential topics such as the constitution, guidelines and organisational management of both the MRC and the VAD unit,” it said.

A motivational talk, highlighting the importance of volunteerism, was delivered by Jong Jing Kwong, MRC Miri general manager.

The event not only provided valuable insights for new members but also fostered a stronger sense of community and dedication to the spirit of volunteerism within the VAD unit.
