Rep joins residents in inclusivity programme

KUCHING: Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman joined residents in the inclusivity programme organised by the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU).

The programme with the community, which was attended by nearly 50 residents from Sri Wangi Flat, Tupong area as well as DBKU staff, was held at the Sri Wangi Flat here on Saturday (March 18).

The purpose of the programme was to foster community awareness towards cleanliness around the area, and to preserve the greenery in the neighbourhood.

Valentine Tujang, the representative from DBKU cum organising committee of the event said that the annual programme is a collaborative effort of various departments of DBKU to serve the community.

“The inclusivity programme hopes to improve understanding towards the residents and break down barriers to strengthen the relationship between the community and DBKU,” he said.

The event kicked off at 7 am with aerobic exercise led by the Kuching Senamtari Club.

It was followed by communal work such as cleaning around the flats, which were among the tasks assigned to the participants.

Additionally, there were other activities such as tree planting, colouring competition for children, lucky draws, as well as exhibitions by National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) and Ministry of Health (MOH). Also present was DBKU mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan.
