PADAWAN: The Greater Kuching Development Coordination Agency (GKCDA) will develop a rice processing, packaging, and marketing factory in the Mambong constituency.

In this regard, the special administrative officer of GKCDA, Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik conducted a working visit to the Antares Ventures Sdn Bhd factory to observe the processing and management of paddy into rice, today (Nov 9).

He said that this process will be adapted for the implementation of the construction project for the collection, processing, and packaging of paddy and heirloom paddy in Kampung Bengoh Padawan, which is expected to commence next year.

“Through close cooperation with the local community, I believe that effective collective marketing will play a crucial role in creating new markets and demand. This will enable Sarawak farmers to progress while maintaining and preserving their traditional rice farming practices,” he said.

Meanwhile, the managing director of Antares Ventures Sdn Bhd Brendan Kon said that the factory is a local company focused on the conservation of various traditional rice varieties and the development of the local rice industry in Sarawak.
