BINTULU: A man has died on the spot after his motorcycle skidded off the road and fell into a 12-foot-deep ditch along Jalan Ulu Sebauh on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 8.10 pm near the Bintulu Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC).
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department said that firefighters from Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene following the report.
Upon arrival, the team verified the accident and worked to rescue the victim from the ditch.
However, the victim, identified as Hillary Tawan Anderson Kalong, 27, was declared deceased at the scene by paramedics.
His body was handed over to the police to be taken to the hospital for post-mortem examinations.
The operation concluded at 9.32 pm once the situation was considered safe.
