PALOH: A total of RM267 million has been approved for building roads in Paloh, Berangan, Kedang, and Tanjung Manis.

Tanjong Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab said that the initial allocation of RM100 million through the Rajang Delta Development Agency (Radda) was insufficient to construct a paved road.

“The allocation is for a road that will connect Kampung Paloh, Kampung Berangan, and Kampung Kedang to Stalun at Sungai Batang Belawai.

“The allocation is expected to cover all facilities, including paved roads and several small bridges along the approved route,” he said during a visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Orang Kaya Muda Pakeri Paloh and the seawall construction project along the Kampung Paloh shoreline on Saturday.

As such, he hoped that the project can be implemented as soon as possible because the locals have been waiting for a road to connect Paloh and the surrounding areas for a long time.

On the same note, he lamented that the budget is insufficient to include the construction of a bridge at Batang Belawai. Nevertheless, he suggested that temporary ferry services could be used.
