RM638,600 for carrying out EFL programme

MUKAH: The state government had approved an allocation of RM638,600 for an English Fun Learning (EFL) programme to be implemented in every district in the state this year.

Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah disclosed this at a launching of an education innovation programme at Medan Mall, here on Saturday.

“And my ministry has been shouldered to implement the programme for this year. It is an on-going programme in every district under State Education Department with the total allocation of RM638,600. EFL started with the producing of Handbook EFL in January this year,” she said.

The programme is to train about 3,900 teachers and educators of registered nursery and kindergarten centres in the state.

It is expected to be completed in October this year.

Also present at the function held in conjunction with 46th State level Teachers’ Day Celebration 2017 were heads of department and local community leaders.
