RTD issues 15 summonses in daily op

MIRI: The Road Transport Department (RTD) here issued a total of 15 summonses during a daily operation at Jalan Bakam on Wednesday.

According to the department, the operation was to detect traffic offences and ensure that the community was in compliance with the existing laws while on the road.

RTD Miri Operations Unit had inspected a total of 78 vehicles and issued 15 summonses against motorists throughout the operation.

Among the offences detected were not wearing a seat belt besides tyres and tinted mirrors not up to the specifications.

In addition, the summonses also covered other technical offences such as unauthorised vehicle modifications.

Following that, road users are advised to ensure that their vehicles used comply with the existing laws.

The department assured that enforcement would continue to be performed with focus on ensuring that users comply with existing rules and laws.
